Unit 3 Video

In the video, I explore how beauty has been historically measured through proportions and numbers, using systems like the golden ratio and the Vitruvian Man.

As a fashion model, I have always felt immense pressure to conform to standardised sizes, which has negatively impacted my mental and physical health. Through my investigation of alternative ways to measure and display female bodies, I’ve come to emphasise the importance of subjective awareness and cultural exchange over rigid numerical standards.

My project, which involves a collaborative effort with my female peers, results in a tapestry that symbolises our shared vulnerabilities and womanhood, urging us to rethink how we measure our bodies and embrace softness in times of tension and power.
